Adding spray tanning to your existing business is easier and more cost-effective than it was years ago. Spray tanning has become one of the most sought after beauty regiments today. Depending on your area, the average cost of a spray tan, ranges from $20-$60. When you factor in the cost margin for supplies, marketing, and other associated costs, spray tanning can be a great source for stand-alone income or as an additional boost to the profits you are already enjoying in your current business.
Women like to look and feel beautiful. Men like to feel and look handsome. Tanning has always been a huge industry and spray tanning has made this industry safer and more widely sought after than ever before. People want to look great, but they also want to know that they are doing so in the safest manner possible.
EnvyTan offers a wide variety of spray tanning training including It's Official: Spray Tanning Course and Certification. This is an online course good anywhere nation-wide and is available for only $45.00.
There are many ways to begin the process of introducing spray tanning to your new and existing clients. First, research your competition. Find out what other salons in the area offer spray tanning? Is it a booth or a technician? Are these technicians mobile? Are they certified? What will your salon offer to make your establishment unique?
The next thing is your spray tanning equipment. Spray tanning equipment can be obtained in many ways. At EnvyTan we offer High Velocity Low Pressure (HVLP) spray tanning equipment, this equipment can be purchased on its own or in our professional start up kits. Our professional start up kits include everything you will need to get started, except for the clientele, that part is up to you.
If your salon purchases a professional starter kit from EnvyTan it will also include marketing materials, like client brochures and a year on our national locator. These tools are very helpful in generating new business to your salon. EnvyTan offers a wide variety of custom marketing materials to assist you with marketing your new business.
All of our HVLP spray tanning equipment comes with 0% dihydroxyacetone (DHA) training solution. While this solution does not offer a fully developed DHA tan, it is specially formulated to help you perfect your technique. This is the perfect training tool to keep in your spray tanning training arsenal. It is used as a colour guide so you can practice on the same person over and over until you have perfected your technique. Since it does not include DHA it can be washed off after the first shower. If you mess up, simply have them rinse off and start over.
If you have already purchased a professional start up kit from EnvyTan, you now have everything you need to add spray tanning to your business. A simple search on the web can net you hundreds of free business marketing ideas. Research online is free and its valuable, doing this step is as important as purchasing your equipment. I think the practicing with a 0% DHA formula at first is a great idea. I wish we had thought of that for our estheticians, but will do so moving forward with new hires. Also, it is really important for tanning consumers who want a quality airbrush tan to realize the difference in some at-home spray tan kit, vs a professional airbrush tanning session by a trained tanning salon esthetician. Thanks for the tips and ideas!
