Hand Sanitizer: DHA Friendly Hostage

 

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s Hostage: DHA Friendly Hand Sanitizer here to save my day and my spray tan!

Summers are a great time to spend outdoors with fun, food and family.  On warm evenings, there’s no place I’d rather be than sitting out at a campfire, under the stars….roasting marshmallows. Those ooey-gooey, melted marshmallows are fabulous!  And sticky. 

Now since I’m in my office Monday-Friday, 9-5, I rely on spray tans for my beautiful glow (shocker)!  Mother Nature, in all her splendor created lakes, rivers and streams, but generally not outdoor plumbing.

So I’m stuck with sticky goo on my (usually still developing) spray tan.

Since my tan is still developing, and everyone knows that DHA—the active ingredient in spray tanning solutions—takes 6-8 hours to fully develop, I can’t wash my hands if I wanted to because I have to avoid contact with water.  What to do?

Hostage is a DHA Friendly hand sanitizer.  It’s not like other hand sanitizers that are overloaded with alcohol.  Alcohol tends to dry out skin (and therefore a spray tan), leading to flaking and peeling.  Simply apply a dime-sized amount to the palms of your hands and rub away.  Try to avoid using it on the tops of your hands.  Use Hostage on spray day and toss it in your bag to use for later!

Pageants: After Party Clean Up

Thank you Toddlers & Tiaras and pageant parents around the world for giving allowing us unparalleled access into the not-always pretty world of pageantry.

I can now breathe easy, knowing that fake teeth and wigs aren’t just for old people.

Staring at my TV, I am mesmerized and horrified by toddlers prettier than I am—and who, I’m sure, put more effort into it as well.

Always dazed and amazed at the thought of having a child involved in pageantry, I baulk at the financial commitment.

Luckily, for pageant people everywhere, EnvyTan has a solution…and not just tanning solution!

Many diehard pageant families already invest in spray tanning equipment.  But clean up and after care is equally important.

Client Concerns: Vacationing Client Concerns

After spending the past week on the phone addressing vacationing-client concerns, I have decided to put the answer out for all to see:  The Can-Cans.

I will address The Can-Cans in a moment, but first I want to touch on “Scheduling a Spray Tan,” as I have seen this question floating around cyber-space.  When making plans for anything, make a timeline.  Plane leaves at 6, be at airport by 5. An hour drive to the airport, leave by 4.  If only people put that kind of time and care into their tanning sessions…  Instead of waiting until the day of you trip to tan, why not make an appointment for the night before?  Bingo! One less thing to do on a crazy travel day!  If you’re a first timer, schedule a tan well in advance to be sure it’s the result that’s expected—that way no one ends up looking like a Willy Wonka stand in during a dream vacation!

And since it’s almost May, it’s almost vacation time.  For those of us who live in land-locked states, it usually meant our annual trip to the beach!  Growing up in a small town in PA, it meant a trip to the Jersey Shore.  And believe me when I tell you, it was never as exciting as it is on MTV!

Now for The Can-Cans…

The Can:

…as in “Can you spray tan before your vacation?”  Well of course you can.  There are no tanning police.  While this seems like a ridiculous question, a vacation to the ocean or spending time at the resort pool can be life-threatening to a tan. No one wants to show up to a fabulous beach vacation looking like a ghost, but at the same time spray tans can be adversely affected by “beachy” activities.  Dancing, sweating, and swimming (in salt water or chlorinated water) can erode a tan.

The Cans:

…as in cans to take with you.  Maintenance is always key in preserving your spray tan—even when you’re at the beach.  Always use a tan extender lotion, like Body Armor.  This lotion actually re-deposits small amounts of DHA on your skin!  Using extender lotions will keep your tan looking fresh.  And for touch ups, take along a spray tan in a can product, like Lasting Envy.

So good ahead and book that dream vacation and that dream tan!  Remember to pack that LBD and your cans.

Spring Break Spray Tans: Tanning Bed Alternative

Spring break and spray tans go hand in hand, not to mention they are a fabulous alternatives to tanning beds. As warmer weather approaches, so does the most festive time of the college calendar! Spring Break, here we come!

Since not of all us are fortunate enough to live in warm climates, we wear pants from mid-October until mid April. Jeans are great—the keep us warm and we don’t have to shave everyday.
